Beyond the beaches, bars and nightclubs of your hotel, you will find a large variety of different activities and places to explore. We invite you to explore La Romana and discover the vast beauty, vibrant culture, diverse wildlife and unique gastronomy this area has to offer.
The tourist destination of La Romana stretches along the Caribbean coastline from the Soco river to Boca de Yuma, encompassing La Romana, one of the most developed and economically productive cities in the Dominican Republic, Casa de Campo, the Caribbean’s most complete resort and home to world famous Pete Dye designed golf course Teeth of the Dog, as well as the beautiful fishing village of Bayahibe, gateway to the National Park of the East, which encompasses Saona Island, a tropical paradise lined with white sandy beaches.
La Romana is one of the most developed and economically productive cities in the Dominican Republic. The local economy is greatly dependent on the Central Romana Corporation, whose sugar mill on the coast employs more than 25,000 locals. In 1971, the Central Romana Corporation initiated the start of tourism in the area with the opening of the Teeth of the Dog golf course, the Caribbean’s #1 golf course – at the heart of the Casa de Campo resort.
